Never made it to The Tavern, as I was from Olton(bit of a jaunt),but once met a really nice crowd of about 6 Rock Brigade, Tavern, regulars at Monmore Rock 82 Rock Festival at Monmore Green Speedway/Greyhound stadium,Wolverhampton, Grand day, went with my mate Bobby and saw Hawkwind and Limelight.Although it was May the 2nd it sleeted and the wind blew the rockets back to earth during the Hawkwind set. Ashamed to say I can't remember the names of all the Tavern crowd but I do recall a really, beautiful, blonde girl called Dawn fron Essington and Stan the Man bass player with Verdi's Requiem. The Tavern sounded cool,I always imagined it like a smaller version of the Costermonger or Mr Bills Bierkeller in Birmingham.Great day, great crowd.Should have gone to the tavern but thanks for the audio record of what it was like.It was just the way the Tavern regular's at Monmore Rock 82 described it. I sometimes go to watch the Speedway at Monmore Green and always remember the wonderful Tavern crowd from 2nd May 1982. Happy memories. Long live Rock 'N' Roll.

I spent most nights drinking at The Tavern and The Gifford from 1976 - 1982. Mostly The Taven. A wild and crazy place, on a normal night just a couple of minor scuffles, weekends meant more scuffles. God help us if the Gaffer went out of town, because then the Angles (banned from the pub) and the football houligans from the George (also banned) would be able to get in. Normally a major brawl ensued! Loved those days!

I remember the Monmore gig well ,we had a few beers in the Tavern as was the case before most gigs and then about twenty of us walked down to Monmore.

This is where I spent most of my teenage life, in the Taverm. Great memories
